PhD Scholarships for Foreign Researchers

The University of Bucharest launches the competition for a number of 4 post-doctoral scholarships worth 10.000 euro each.
The annual scholarship renewable is destined to offer material support for highly qualified foreign researchers. The amount is payable in 10 monthly installments. No additional expenses are eligible for reimbursement. The future beneficiaries, researchers aged until 35 y.o., will be engaged in the realization of a scientific research project inside the University of Bucharest, under the guidance of a research director who is a member of this scientific community. The research fields considered are Life and Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities.
The initial pre-selection stage will be followed by the public resentation/videoconference of the selected projects in front of a board of professors appointed by the Rector. At the end of the scholarship, the beneficiary will submit a scientific report revised by the coordinator in which he presents the results obtained: published papers or submitted for publication (at least two papers in international recognized publications and / or a scientific study of minimum 50 pages or accepted for publication), conference papers / communications, patents.
Guidelines for candidates:
Ist Stage: Recommendation Letter from a teacher from the University of Bucharest
1. On the website www.unibuc.ro[1] will be posted the call specifying the domains in which the scholarships are granted.
2. For each domain there will be established a contact person that will act, for the candidate, as a local facilitator. This person will help the candidate, on the basis of a portofolio received from him / her, to guide the candidate towards professors or directors of research centers in which the candidate is interested.
3. The candidate will contact the professors indicated by the local facilitator and will send to them his resume and the PhD thesis abstract.
4. If the professor contacted will consider that the candidate’s research and scientific activity is worthy to obtain the scholarship, he will send to the candidate a recommendation letter, stating that the candidate will work under his supervision in her/his laboratory/research center.
IInd Stage: Submitting file for competition
1. The candidate assembles the file for competition:
- Application form (which will be posted on www.unibuc.ro[2], page “Scholarship”);
- Resume;
- PhD diploma;
- ID Card;
- Description of research project;
- Letter of recommendation from the teacher from the University of Bucharest that will coordinate his research project;
2. Submission of file competition at the Office of External Affairs by mail at the following address: Bdul. M. Kogãlniceanu, nr. 36-46, sector 5, cod poºtal 050107, Bucureºti, România.
