VIDEONALE 13 – CALL FOR ENTRIES – deadline 20. September 2010

„A place for discoveries" – That's what the German magazine art wrote about VIDEONALE, the international festival for contemporary video art. From 14 April to 29 May 2011 the 13th edition of VIDEONALE takes place at Kunstmuseum Bonn/Germany. You can submit single or - this year for the first time - multi channel works created in the past two years for VIDEONALE 13. The entry deadline is 20 September (post mark).

Founded in 1984 the biannually initiated VIDEONALE is counted amongst the oldest festivals for video art in Germany and Europe. Besides its high standard of presented works VIDEONALE reached a widely accepted reputation in its attempt to develop new forms of presentation for video art. Like in the past also at VIDEONALE 13 a team of architects and designers will develop a cutting-edge exhibition architecture to meet the requirements of the reception of media art.

Movies that Matter Festival
The Movies that Matter Festival is the annual film festival on human rights and social justice in The Hague, the International City of Peace and Justice. This film and debate festival is the successor of the Amnesty International Film Festival. It features the best of recent filmmaking related to human rights and human dignity and serves as a platform for debate and discussion. 
The next edition of the Movies that Matter Festival takes place 24^th-30^th of March, 2011.  We would like to welcome you to submit your film(s). The final deadline is 15^th of October, 2010.
There are no restrictions on genre or length; long or short fiction, documentary, music video, animation are equally welcome provided that the film was made after 2008 and has clear human rights relevance. namaTRE.ba 4 projekat biće održan početkom oktobra 2010. godine na različitim lokacijama u Trebinju, a konkurs za video izložbu otvoren je do 10. septembra. Izložba i projekcije dogodiće se  u Galeriji Akademije likovnih umjetnosti, Gradskom pozorištu u Trebinju i otvorenim lokacijama u užem gradskom jezgru. NAGRADA ZVONO

Centar za savremenu umjetnost, Sarajevo, u saradnji sa Foundation for Civil Society iThrust for Mutual Understanding iz New Yorka, osnovao je Godišnju nagradu za mlade likovne umjetnike i umjetnice do 35 godina starosti – ZVONO.

Naziv nagrade simbolički i vrijednosno označava i njen smisao. Nagrada nosi ime po ličnosti ili umjetničkoj pojavi važnoj za razvoj i istoriju moderne / savremene umjetnosti u 10 zemalja Srednje i Jugozapadne Evrope, u kojima se nagrada dodjeljuje.

Nagrada za mlade likovne umjetnike i umjetnice BiH je dobila ime po grupi ZVONO (Aleksandar Bukvić, Sadko Hadžihasanović, Narcis Kantardžić, Sead Čizmić, Biljana Gavranović i Kemal Hadžić), osnovanoj 1982. godine u Sarajevu. Aktivnost grupe ZVONO pretstavlja najradikalnije ponašanje na likovnoj sceni Bosne i Hercegovine do početka rata 1992. kada većina članova i članica napušta zemlju.
Godišnja nagrada za mlade likovne umjetnike/ce BiH nazvana po grupiZVONO znači prevazilaženje diskontinuiteta u umjetnosti u BiH s jedne strane i želju organizatora da potstakne inovativne umjetničke prakse danas.

CILJ NAGRADE

Cilj nagrade je pružiti podršku mladim umjetnicama i umjetnicama, olakšati im daljnju djelatnost, smještajući ih sa položaja marginalne prema središnoj ulozi u društvu, putem stvaranja pozitivnog konteksta oko mladog stvaralaštva, kreativnosti i inovativnosti s kojom bi se društvo moglo i trebalo identificirati.

PROPOZICIJE

Kandidati i kandidatkinje mogu biti likovni umjetnici i umjetnice do 35 godina starosti, državljani/ke BiH.

U obzir dolaze djela s područija slikarstva, kiparstva, grafike, crteža, instalacije, fotografije, videa, novih medija i performansa. 
Likovni umjetnici/e se mogu sami prijaviti na konkurs. Prijedloge mogu slati i institucije, pojedinci/ke, profesionalni djelatnici/e iz područja likovnih umjetnisti.

Nagrada se dodjeljuje za kvalitet i inovativnost, za umjetnička djela nastala u toku zadnje dvije godine.

Žiri će, između predloženih i na konkurs pristiglih prijava, odabrati 4 finalista / finalistkinje od kojih jedan dobija šestosedmični boravak u New Yorku.

Svaki kandidat/kinja treba predati ispunjen formular sa prilozima i relevantnom vizualnom dokumentacijom. Formular se može podići u SCCA (Obala Kulina Bana 22 /III). Formular je dostupan i na web stranici Centra za savremenu umjetnost, Sarajevo /ZVONO/ www.scca.ba .

Multilingualism and Europe

The topic of the workshop, ‘multilingualism’ is one of the hot topics which refers to different layers
of our everyday life and the New Euro-generation is discussing. The young generation is encouraged
to be multilingual and still keeping the diversity in their own culture. By travelling through Europe by train, thus being able to see the landscape changing and get a sense of its physicality, the project aims to explore the question of multilingualism through film, by giving young people free range to discover this New Europe and how it speaks by themselves. TO THE MEMORY OF THE VICTIMS, FOR US AND OUR FUTURE

As in any form of a conflict which is, unfortunately, inseparable part of the human destiny and the total being, there is one side which is oppressive and the other that suffers, thus the purpose of this Biennial is to attempt to open new questions concerning the problem of the aggressor and the victim in this globalized and alienated world. Such vocabulary and such relationships are all around us. It is not important any more whether it is happening in Europe, America, Asia or Africa.

There is a worldwide general mobilization of its resources where conflicts do not have to be manifested through military activities or physical oppression. The aggression of the contemporary age is economic, political and cultural. The forms of oppression are much more subtle so that the victim we are talking about is suffering in many ways. Do we need this kind of aggression and is there a way in which we can fight this problem is the question this Biennial is trying to answer.

Perhaps we would fail to find and offer answers to these questions, but we will certainly open this questions and alert on any form of aggression that we recognize.

RULES OF PARTIPATION

1. Only original works, not larger than 100x70 cm, without frame, will be taken into consideration. Exhibition categories are: painting, graphics, drawing, photography and applied arts.

2.The deadline for applications is 20 June 2010. The Biennial runs from 11 July to 11 August.

3.All the works will be included in a colour catalogue of 21x21 formats, which will be sent to each participant free of charge.

4.Each participant can participate at the exhibition with a maximum of two works.

5.Participants must send all the information and documents related to the works. Works without the required information will not be accepted.

6.The application should be fulfilled in print letters and send together with the works.

7.The exhibition will be held on 11 July in Novi Pazar, 36300 Serbia. The same exhibition will be forwarded to several other cities in the country and abroad.

8. Awards at the Biennial

1. Grand Prix 900$.
2. Three equal awards 300$.
3. Two purchase prizes paid in dollars

9.The works are returned to the authors after completion of the Biennial, except to those who choose to donate their works to the organizers.

10. Award winners will be notified via e·mail, immediately after the nomination of prizes, and purchase prizes will be awarded at the opening of the exhibition.

11.The International University of Novi Pazar reserves the right to produce the works in promotional cultural events.

12.The works will be selected by an international jury.

Prema konceptu projekta "Pocket Luck", u kontekstu globalne krize koju karakteriše ekonomska nestabilnost i odsustvo adekvatnog političkog miljea koji bi riješio krupna socijalna pitanja, u kojem je uočljiv nedostatak pažnje prema vrjednostima individue i životnog okruženja, potrebno je dizajnirati džepnu hamajliju/talisman za nošenje u svim situacijama koje zahtjevaju vibraciju “pozitivnosti”, alrtuističke hrabrosti, kritičkog duha, kreativnosti i neophodne doze ironije.
